Psalm 102:25-27  Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.  They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment.  You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end.

What a wonderful, but profoundly simple, truth is expressed in these verses in God’s inspired, infallible Word!  Our present culture has been so thoroughly indoctrinated by the theory of evolution that it is good for us to be confronted with such a clear statement of the reality revealed to us here in this Psalm by God, our Creator, himself!

The Lord, through the Psalmist, leaves us in no doubt that he exists outside time, and that the Time-Space Universe we now inhabit, he brought into existence, out of nothing (ex nihilo), and it has a limited existence – it is running down and wearing out.  The proven scientific law we have established to describe this fact is the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which the Lord himself hints at in Romans 8:18-25.  Because of my own scientific background in Engineering, I get quite excited about the advances that are being made in science today.  The more we discover about our world and how it works, the more shaky the ground becomes on which the theory of evolution is based.  I keep in touch with this through the excellent, scientifically based ministry of Creation Ministry International (CMI – ‘creation.com‘) and the information it publishes from people with recognised PhDs in various scientific disciplines.

It is not at all surprising to me that our Creator God declares, in unambiguous terms, this warning through the Apostle Paul: ”For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.  For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.  So they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:18-20)

This is exactly the point being made in Psalm 102.  What a firm foundation God’s written Word remains for us, as evolutionists try desperately to maintain, in the face of growing clear evidence to the contrary, their ‘unproven and unprovable’ theory (to quote Evolutionst, Sir Arthur Keith, who admits he is an Evolutionist “because the only possible aternative is Special Creation, and that’s unthinkable”!).  The saddest thing for me is when professing Christians, who are the products (usually unwittingly) of our God-denying culture, do not take the trouble to look at the sound scientific facts that are available today challenging evolution and supporting the clear literal meaning of the Creation account God has so graciously provided for us in Genesis 1.  This is especially so in the light of the warning that such refusal will leave them ‘without excuse’ when the time comes for the Eternal Creator, whose ‘years have no end’, brings his Time-Space Universe to an end – to ‘wear out like a garment’ as in the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
