It is a privilege to share with you of the ongoing ministry of Australian Presbyterian World Mission. I was commissioned to the role of National Director of APWM in December 2025 to this exciting and dynamic role to work with our missionaries on the field across the world. 

By God’s grace and kindness, the ministry of APWM is committed to the task of reaching the ‘Unreached Peoples of the World’ with the Gospel as we read in the Great Commission by our Lord:

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on the earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

We are privileged to proclaim the Gospel globally and pray that by God’s grace we can have a ‘Mission Impact’ in our ministry. APWM seeks to do this in FOUR ways:

Send

We send called gospel workers to serve alongside local Christians. This takes place as God raises up workers who are supported by their local congregations and individuals who belong to the Presbyterian Church of Australia. In doing so, we seek to fulfil the Great Commission in by commissioning our missionaries through the PCA.

Train

Our missionaries train local Christians in the countries they serve, to enable these local Christians to equip and train others in Gospel ministries in their local churches and communities. We see this as a vital area of ministry so that the focus is on training locals to do ministry. In this way we are building the local leaders to serve effectively, and equip other leaders so that they can continue gospel ministry in their local context. We are working on establishing a Ministry Education Fund to assist in funding training as well as conducting seminars and workshops as part of our overall objective to equip future leaders. We are thankful to the Lord for the work that is going on at the Talua Theological Training Institute in Vanuatu. Recently, I had the opportunity of visiting the Institute and saw firsthand the encouraging ministry that is going on at the College. Let us continue to uphold the Falls family as they serve in Vanuatu.

Partner

We also work in gospel partnership with Presbyterian Partner Churches and other gospel-minded workers in the following countries: Ethiopia, India, Japan, Malawi, Myanmar, South Sudan, Timor Leste, Vanuatu and Zambia.

We value the partnership we have with our partner churches, and we want to maintain and strengthen the ongoing relationships that we have with our Gospel Partners. I have had the opportunity to visit Timor Leste and to be part of the training we provide to local leaders. I have only just returned from Japan where I spent time with the Ho family and the Ramsay family, our APWM missionaries. I also met with many leaders of the Presbyterian Church of Japan, including the Moderator General.  I was able to discuss and negotiate with them about the renewal of our Partnership Agreement with the PCJ.

We want to continue to build on our relationships with our Partner Churches and learn from each other as well as to support each other in the gospel.

Resource

We also seek to equip national Christians with suitable resources so they can carry out ministry. This takes place through providing resources such as: Bibles & theological works; upgrades and repairs to buildings; disaster relief; ministry materials for pastors; financial assistance for Partner Churches facing challenges. The finances you provide mean that we are able to provide resources where and when needed. 

I have given you an overall ministry focus of APWM. Your ongoing prayers and support are deeply appreciated. Please pray and partner with us as we seek to make Christ known across the world and have a ‘Mission Impact’ both locally in our Indigenous ministry and globally in all the world.
