I often talk to people who question why it took the Christian church so long to abolish slavery. They then quickly add that if they had been alive back then, then they would have definitely stood up and said something.
But I often wonder whether they really would…I mean, there is a personal cost on speaking out on these kinds of issues. Especially when family and friends have been somehow involved. For instance, approximately 25% of women in Australia have had an abortion. That’s 1 in 4.
What that means is that nearly everyone would know someone who is suffering from the guilt of killing an unborn child.
At what point will you be willing to make a public and personal stand though, democratically seeking to end abortion in our land? In a couple of weeks time a “Walk for Life” rally is being organised in Sydney. It’s a wonderfully strategic opportunity to represent your biblical convictions in a godly and politically constructive way.
Please consider not only attending but maybe even organising a group from your local church to go as well. The aim is to gather God’s people, and simply walk for life. God will take it from there.
